>>>>>>Unfortunately, I'm a large. But I began exercising again in the last few weeks. Oh, and Ernie Kovacs was one of the funniest, most inventive people ever to grace TV (and Edie was a treat). He and Sid Caesar spoiled me for comedy.

>>>>Go to youtube and type in "Sid Caesar". Believe me, you'll be laughing all over again. Sid, Howie, Carl, Imogine. They were hilarious, and watching them again, they're still hilarious.
>>>
>>>The early Carol Burnette shows (mid 60s) were hilarious.
>>
>>Yes, at least the ones with Tim Conway. Although Carol herself was a major talent.
>>
>>>Looking back, I can't believe I actually watched 'The Monkeys.' :o)
>>>
>>>And what about these oldies:
>>
>>Well, most of them are shows that came later for me (remember I'm a bit older than you are). Maybe I was just too much of an old fart even in my youth, but I didn't care for most of the ones on your list.
>>
>>I grew up with sitcoms like Topper and Dear Phoebe, The Phil Silvers Show (Sergent Bilko), and other shows like Range Rider, Wild Bill Hickock, Captain Midnight (later became Jet Jackson) etc. Plus when I was a kid, I listened to the radio a lot - "X minus 1", "Inner Sanctum", "Johnny Dollar", "Gangbusters" "Stan Freberg" etc.
>>
>>Anyway, here goes (solely my opinions):
>>
>>>Green Acres
>>Couldn't stand it. Come one - Eva Gabor????
>>
>>>Good Times
>>Thought it was tolerable. But I couldn't stand Jimmy Walker.
>>
>>>I Dream of Jeannie
>>Couldn't stand it.
>>
>>>Sanford and Son
>>Thought it was ok.
>>
>>>Addams Family
>>Thought it was ok.
>>
>>>The Munsters
>>Couldn't stand it.
>>
>>>All in the Family
>>Thought it was excellent.
>>
>>>I Love Lucy
>>I hate Lucy.
>>
>>>Partridge Family
>>The Partridge Family? How'd that get in the list?
>>Oh, well, didn't like it; didn't dislike it; didn't spend time with it.
>>
>>>Get Smart
>>Loved it.
>>
>>>Dick Van Dyke
>>Thought it was one of the very best sitcoms ever made. Brilliant!
>>
>>>Petticoat Junction
>>Couldn't stand it.
>>
>>>That Girl
>>Couldn't stand it.
>>
>>>McHale's Navy
>>Not my thing.
>>
>>>American Bandstand
>>Probably ok for what it was, but I never really spent any time with it.
>>
>>>I Spy
>>Loved it.
>>
>>>Family Affair
>>Thought it was ok.

>Mary Tyler Moore Show. Was that a spin off from Dick Van Dyke ?

No. It just starred MTM. It also came much later (early 70s I think). It was also a terrific show.
