When I stop SQL service on one server, SQL service stops on both SQL servers. I have three Windows 2003 servers that are clustered together using Windows clustering. Two of the servers have SQL 2000 installed. I'll refer to the two physical servers as p2 and p3 and the virtual names as v2 and v3. I successfully connect to p2 or v2 using Enterprise Manager. However, when I attempt to connect to p3 or v3 using the SQL sa account and domain account account, I receive "access denied or server does not exist". I have been assured by the support group that the sa password has not changed. I rebooted the servers and even failed over the servers in attempt to correct the problem. When I stop SQL service on v2 or v3, SQL services stop on both services. When I start SQL service on v2 or v3, SQL services start on both servers. When I stop and start the sevices on p2 or p3, SQL stops and starts on both servers. I need to be able to attach to v3 or p3; and, I need the SQL servers to start and stop independently.
