I'll look into TABLEVALIDATE

the thing that's irritating about this VFP bug is that the table opens fine with use (myfoxuserfile) and does not report and memo problem - and I can browse and view the memo contents - it only shows a memo error when I do SET RESOURCE TO (myfoxuserfile) - so my theory right now is that I'm not sure if the memo file is really corrupt or if VFP just doesn't like some entry value and is rejecting it
