I guess the few times they visited, we may have said something in passing (like when one said "...and I lost the game!" to which I threw "don't worry, you'll find it", which everybody else got immediately). Or the puzzle over the back yard door latch... (see picture). Or the bookshelf/wall across the middle of the living room (or the absence of the dying room?).
Who knows. It's teenagers, they have their own language (plus a few which are theirs but not own).
