In your case I'd use a simple DataControl, as far as that control supports directly Foxpro as DataSource.
It doesn't need ODBC, which is much more faster.
In fact, you need a RDC only if you have the need to monitor connections (TimeOut, Remote Errors), or if you want to automatically filter empty recordsets.
Note that RDC performances are bad compared to DataControl when you use SQL property (see VB eDoc, keyword RemoteData).
