Just in case (I haven't built a COM server for over five years now), did you try to regsvr32 it, and see whether it would appear again? Also (another trick from back then), if you have the original pjx from an earlier build, maybe you can restore the appropriate memo which holds the GUID for your class into the first record for the pjx of your current project. I remember weird things happened when you build and accidentally get a new GUID (i.e. the "regenerate component IDs" checkbox is checked when building)... your COM server would begin playing hide-and-seek.
