I hope you can soon find a way to allow searching for phase containing some special char as I have mentioned earlier.

I am registered member of many technical forums, most of them are FOC to register. I don't think all these forums are financially as strong as Google. But still they can let me search with little restriction. It is very sad that UT couldn't provide a similar (if not better) search engine.

I am not familiar with technical capability of all kinds of web servers, but if you have mistakenly chosen one which can NOT allow flexible search feature, then I would like to suggest you change it again to something else which can.
