I would find it absolutely amazing if it did, because here sports are what brings support to the school. On any given sport competition night, folks from all over town come to the competition. That includes parents, grandparents, friends, and even folks who have never attended the school nor do they know anyone who attends or once attended. High school sports are HUGE here.

However, given the budget problems (our state is probably about bankrupt), anything is possible. I find this amazing because just before the election last November there was absolutely no mention of budget problems. Now, since the election, the state is not only broke, but in a HUGE deficit situation.

There is a huge discussion going on right now because a couple of very small and poor counties get more federal aid for their schools than the others. Those very small, poor counties actually pay much larger salaries for everyone in the school system and can afford to spend more on supplies, sports, etc. It appears that the federal funding to poorer counties supercedes what is brought in via taxes in the larger counties. Seems to me that the counties with more tax intake should take a closer look at what they are spending our taxes on rather than complain about the small counties.
