Thanks Hank, I suppose it is worth a try. I'm out of other ideas at the moment. There are several possible solutions but most are around $2000, more that the client is willing to spend. Intuitively, I wouldn't think it advisable to make changes to a registry setting while the program is in use. they probably wouldn't take effect until the next session anyway. I also wonder what rights the application would need to do this. Some print jobs are stored according to the Case ID and others according to the User ID so each job goes to a different directory. Although I suppose you could dump them somewhere on the server and them move them programmatically. The simplest of the free virtual printer drivers would do what we need if we could only suppress that darned SaveAs dialog!
