>>>AIUI, what the report said is that the groups are _targeting_ returning vets, not that vets are particularly attracted. That's a big difference.

Personally I will almost be (pleasantly) surprised if it doesn't happen. Take a large number of highly trained munitions guys, some of them suffering from post-traumatic stress, then add the bleak economy. Something is almost bound to happen.

>If you really feel that way and are concerned for our vets instead of defaming them, then start writing letters to congressmen to pressure them into passing a bill that will actually guarantee the medical and psychological support for veterans returning from Afghanistan and Iraq. At least so far it is only words being thrown at them and not spit as our Vietnam veterans suffered. Who's next? The boyscouts?

>What is this? McCarthyism? Who are you afraid of? Those who oppose illegal immigration? abortion? amnesty? tax bailouts? oppose facism? oppose socialism? support their first amendment rights? support the constitution? Are we all going to have to take an oath of far-left support next or take a pill to keep us all in line with your way of thinking?

Tracy, you are way off the mark. Obviously this is a much more emotional issue for you than it is for me.

I was not slandering soldiers and never have. Even a casual reader of this section has undoubtedly seen a few posts from me saluting our soldiers and the job they do. Do you not remember when I bought the Support Our Troops magnet for my car? (I'm pretty sure you were the one who gave me a good place to buy it).

None of which is to the point of this discussion. What I said -- not what you projected, what I said -- is it won't surprise me if there is at least one major act of domestic terrorism by one or more ex-soldiers, for the reasons stated before. And I don't back down from saying that. Obviously I hope I'm wrong. We'll see.

I have no left wing agenda. Will disregard most of your last paragraph on the assumption that you were just rolling by then.
