Are you saying that by uninstalling and reinstalling VFP 9 it would restore the files in question? If I do that, do I also need to reinstall all the Active X components, or would they remain in place?

If you have SP1 installed, you have to completely uninstall VFP 9. Then install SP2 on top of the plain-jane VFP. Do NOT install SP1. If you try to install SP2 on top of SP1, it will not install properly.
