After reading the whole thread so far... I wonder whether there's any reason why XML isn't mentioned. I guess any Office app would be capable of getting some info from a neat XML file, and it's been since VFP7 that we're capable of delivering that out of the box (with custom code to the same purpose being written far before that).

So... is it an option or not?

(I know I can dig it out myself, but why if someone tried it already? :)
