For that, a setting would be required. I am not sure about that one however as to know about how the best approach would apply.

A reply is in its own table. So, when it is removed, the record no longer exist. It is not a private message which serves for a communication between two members. In such a case, we had to find an implementation mechanism to keep the record there even if the member is removing it. It wouldn't have been to keep all those removed replies since so long as this would have simply overload the database for nothing. Also, we never had any use to keep them since the debut.
