Personally, I had never heard of it until now, though their website states that they have been around since the start of .NET.

Have you downloaded the free trials for both? Though Crystal is embedded in VS, so you could use it inside VS, though I'm not a fan. I prefer the full product since it gives me more real estate to work with in the development tool.

As for price, the .NET version of Crystal Reports comes with VS. It looks like that the full product of CR is much cheaper in comparison to Link and Label.

Since I'm curious now, time permitting, I'm going to have a look at Link and Label and see how it works.
