I'm not sure what 'the cursor came up behind the fields' means. Can you elaborate?
Did you try to issue SET CURSOR ON ?

SET CURSOR is. What I mean is that you can see the I-beam cursor and when you try to move it into one of the data entry fields you can see it move behind the field instead of into it.
