Every time I try to APPEND FROM an EXCEL file, which I saved in the 97-2003 version into a FoxPro table, VFP crashes. I've tried it with VFP 6.0 and 9.0. How can this happen?

I open the table, then execute the following command:

APPEND FROM C:\TEMP\ITEMCONV.XLS TYPE XLS

and every time, Visual FoxPro crashes. Is it Windows VISTA?
