>This is one of the big problems with the media. They won't admit to the FACT that he didn't inherit the deficit, he helped create it. The dems have been in control of both houses for the past two years. Since taking office he has spent us into oblivion. I'm reminded of the notion that "that which doesn't kill you will only make you stronger". Dang, we are either going to be dead or super strong in four more years!

>>Hussien -- there you go again. You may not like him but he has come into office like nobody since Reagan, maybe FDR. He has inherited a horrible situation and is reacting forcefully. If you doubt he has balls, just read the insider accounts of his negotiations with the bankers and the auto execs. He truly is the FDR of our age.
History tells nicely us that the deficit grows with a republican president and is more or less under control under a democratic. I can't believe the name "Fiscal conservative republican" even exists. Its a myth.
Obama has a terrible difficult problem to solve. He is willing to listen to any advice to get out of the swamp, unlike Bush which in his unknowing ignorance ruled from blind idealogy instead of using his brains. The financial and economic situating is bad, real bad, but if we want to learn the lessons from the 1930's, you'll have acknowledge that what they tried then, did not work all too well.
The best way to come out of the swamp is too keep people busy and productive, even if you have to spend money to keep them busy.
