>Well from your rants up here, I could not conclude that. So tell me about the evils of socialism in the UK.
>
>You must be confusing me with someone else. I do not rant. Or do you believe that anyone who has an opinion different from yours is "ranting" ? Quite frankly, I am much to busy with billable work to waste my time in a battle of wits with you. Beside the point, it would hardly be sporting to engage an unarmed opponent.

>Anyways, I feel that the word 'Socialism' in the US is over used, in the wrong context and solely for the purpose to scare people off, while not knowing how the rest of the world has implemented a level of socialism and are doing faily well.
>
>I have yet to see anywhere in the world that socialism has been successful.

Really ?
First of all, you indicate that you know what socialism is by living in the UK for a few years. Second even more 'social' countries are doing way better than both the US and the UK. Look at the 'socialistic' scandanavian countries. They rank the best in about every stats, are awfully taxed high but are about the best countries in the world to live in. They are the best economic and competative countries in the world.

And what about china? their economy has been developping like crazy.

And do you really think that the unlimited capitalism and strong believe in the self regulating ability of the markets in the US have proven themselves? Are they not the source of this financial and economic problem?

Please don't make the mistake that socialism is an absolute. It comes in gradations. A bit of socialism is not bad.

And that comming from one on the right of the political map in The Netherlands ....

>I can see parallell with the usage of the word 'liberal' in the US by the republican crowd.
>
>Exactly who is the republican crowd?

The ones who bombed the word 'liberal' to an ugly word.
