Maybe you're looking for an autofill combos - there should be a few in the downloads. The difference is that these are not forgetting what the user typed after _dblclick seconds passed (or is there a new variable now, that replaces it).

Another option would be (if you want to store strings and not the foreign keys to them) a textbox with an autocomplete table.
