>I am somewhat a beginner/intermediate VFP programmer, so thanks ahead for the help. I am trying to update a vfp6 app to a vfp9 app with forms with XP style. They are XP style in design mode but are not after I compile. I have tried both commands at app startup but no success.

Is it possible that you're still running your application under VFP6 thinking it's VFP9?
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
