Well, did you go see Star Trek this weekend?

Spoilers below - don't say I didn't warn you!

















Almost there....















Well, I enjoyed the movie, but was expecting a bit more with all the build up. I give it about 8 out of 10.

The cast was great.
Spock/Sylar - A+ Qunito was perfect as young adult Spock (my daughter - 20 - says he is "HOT")
Kirk- A Pine played a great Kirk - had all the Kirkisms down pat by then end - notice how he sits in the bridge Captain's chair.
McCoy - Perfect - A+ - don't know his name, but a perfect pick for McCoy "Damit Jim, I'm a Doctor, not a Physicist!"
Scotty - A - Very comical - "I like this Ship .... it's exciting!!"
Uhuru - A - Didn't see that romance coming!
Chekov - A- - 17 year old wonderboy - "I can do it ! I can do it!!!!"
Sulu - A - Don't get in his way when he has a sword! - Also - don't foget to release the Inertial Dampers when hitting Warp Speed!

Nero - forgettable villian - I felt sorry for him - lost his wife, family and home planet due to Spock - I would be p***ed too !!! But to destroy planets in revenge - needs some help ! I like Khan better!! Hey, did Nero steal that little scorpian critter to put in Captain Pike from Kahn in his earlier film (Kahn used some kinda slug critters on Chekov and his Captain in ST2)???

Special effects - very good - looks like they were done in the style used in Battlestar Galactica - panning and moving in and out of the scenes - very cool computer effects.

Hated the contined use of Kirk hanging for his life - about 5 times in the movie! Soooner or later, you gonna lose that grip, Jimbo.

What sucks is how they pulled the Bobby Ewing on us - we have lost ALL the past Star Treks in one go. They now never existed - No old Kirk, Spock, Bones adventures - No Voyager - No Next Generation - No Enterprise (good riddance to that one!) - plus the Borg are now back in business, along with Kahn and other bad dudes that met their maker earlier. Didn't you feel cheated in Dallas by that?? Now the same has occured! Oh well..... it is time to start over!!

All in all, a great summer film! Enjoy it and see how you like it!
