>He has pleasantly surprised me again. This is not a comprehensive health care overhaul such as the one envisioned by the Clintons but it sounds like a good example of getting what you can. And notice that some hard cases like the insurers have acceded to his wishes. I am liking this guy more all the time.

>National Health Insurance has failed in every country in which it has been tried. All it winds up being is a way to ration medical services. People die while on a waiting list....
ROFL... absolutely nonsense. We have national healthcare implemented succesfully as many other countries surrounding us did. People in the US die, because they never qualify to get on a waiting list. It is not for nothing that the life expectancy in the US is LOWER than most western countries.
Sure there are waitinglists for people who are waiting for donated organs. But that is the same as in the US. You'll have to wait until you get a suitable donor. Having real world experience with the matter, I can say that if your condition is life threatening, you'll not be on a waitinglist for longer than absolutely neccesary.
And if you feel you are better off with private healthcare and have enough money, there is nothing stopping you from getting on a plane and getting it.
pfffff.
