The real problem in the US is not the health care system...it's the legal system, with people suing doctors for every little thing. Many doctors here no longer do many services because they can't afford the insurance for them. Also, most doctors don't really own anything (house, car, etc)...it's all in their spouse's name so if they get sued, there's nothing for them to lose.

It works. GP's here make over $600,000 a year here. That ought to be enough to keep your docs happy. The cost per person is a wopping $44.00 a month. employers pay the same amount for each employee. $88.00 a month isn't much. Also, I continue to hear about the lineup issue. So, let me say it again. There are no line ups. I have never never never seen them and I say that after six years of caring for my wife as she slowly died. Doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, even people to give her a bath would come in and help us out. How much did it cost? Nothing! She was 65 and if you are a senior you do not pay anything for health care. In emergency rooms the worst see a doctor first. That's normal, If you have a sniffle, you'll wait while the guy with the broken leg jumps ahead of you in the order. If that's what is being called a line then, tough beans!
