>>Using VFP without mdot in high execution count loops is like going to a car with the handbrake pulled!
How many drywallers use a screw in one place, a nail in the next and staples in a third on the same sheet of drywall? How many internal combustion engines use a spark plug in one cylinder, a pair of bare wires in a second and a lighter in a third?
I see most industries opt for a single way to do a single task. I use mdot all the time, not only if I'm doing some high execution loop.
