>If you feel the quality of your care is better how do you dispute people lining up to come here for treatment? How is it that most every country complains about long lines, rationed services, and behind the curve solutions? Talk to any Canadians lately who are taxed at over 60% and still have poor healthcare.

Talk to any Canadian up here and they will choose their health care over yours anytime. Again you show to have no problem to be utterly misinformed.

Quality of health care is much and much more than having the finest treatments available *if* you've got the money. You're blinded for the fact that 40 million are without health care and many more with very poor health care coverage. You pay big dimes to substandard service. Medication is awfully expensive, as is with treatment. Many medical treatments are 3 to 4 times as expensive compared to here. Information from one physician to another is non-standard, *if* it exists at all. Most Americans do not even have their own PCP who owns a EMR about your medical history.

And sure if you are a millionaire, you can buy the best health care in the world. But that does not help Joe average. Even in the middle class you're screwed when you need a costly treatment.

>I can speak from experience as I have excellent healthcare and I pay for it. I CHOOSE to pay more for better care and not spend that money on entertainment, alcohol, American Idol, drugs, and other non-necessary items. It has paid off twice as my children were involved in a car accident that necessated a helicopter ride, 5 MRI's/scans, 4 days in an ICU unit, and so far 5 months of follow-up stuff every 4-5 days. I dare say everyone should get the help they need but they should also pay for it. My insurance paid for all of that because I lay out for it and CHOSE not to spend that money on secular, worldy items as do most if given the choice. Insurance is expensive but not so that you cannot afford it if you choose to make that type of thing a priority instead of cigarettes, a DVR and twice daily trips to Starbucks ( or whatever your poison is ).

>I equate the same to parents who work and have everything they want ( nights on the town, new cars, tv's ) but you see their kids running around in squaller with runny noses. It is not my job to raise their kids if they choose not to do so. They choose poorly.

Health care should be a human right, and not something you can only get when having the money. It will be much cheaper in the end, but that of course is hard to believe for someone who does not have any experience over the fence. It fine you choose to pay more, but millions of Americans DO NOT HAVE THIS CHOICE, beyond their fault.
