>>>The problem is that Al quida raised arms with you and you on your turn who were unable to find and punish the ones responsible for it, just got out to iraq and afghanistan where the first had absolutely nothing to do with it, and the second only marginally in providing al quida a home base. So if I slam you in the face and run a way, you're going to get anyone who remotely might have some relationship with me?

>>No. He will invade Belgium.

>I wonder if Netherlands will contribute a Dutchbat and an air element like they did for OPERATION JOINT ENDEAVOR? Heck, they could take Belgium on their own, after all Dutch fighter jets took part in the NATO air strikes that resulted in 500 to 2,500 civilian deaths.

Do you have any links to that?

>They bombed Radio Television Serbia and the cluster bombed the Nis marketplace and handed Bosnians over to Serbs. They just do what they've always done - blame others just like they blamed the UN for all of their actions during Yugoslavia and the Srebrenica massacre.

Absolutely not. Srebrenica has caused a deep feeling of guilt up here, even though looking at the facts about the event, there was little we could do to defend the city. They simply did not get the air support they requested for. What we are blaming ourselves is that after we were overrun, we helped the serbes to deport the Muslim man into busses. History tells us what happened after that.

>Pacifism didn't work out too well for those at Srebrenica. Funny how Walter never mentions that....why is he not screaming for Netherlands to answer for those war crimes as amnesty international would like?

You disappoint me Tracy. I did mention and discussed Srebrenica a couple of times up here. And which war crimes are we talking about?

>Or do political and military mistakes committed soley by the U.S. only count? All the countries in Nato at the time are responsible for that mess. We are equally responsible but I don't spend hours online reminding him of that in almost every thread.

As you very well know, my participation is directed at right-wing Americans that seem to know it all and think they have the authority and knowledge to say what is wrong or right. They tend to have a superior feeling about the US but limited knowledge about the issues they talk about. Hence reality is different. Do you blame me for holding a mirror against that?

You are free, like anyone else, to blame the dutch of anything. Whether it is slavery, euthanasia, military failings (like in Srebrenica) or whatever, I'll answer the best I can.

What disgusts me is the intolerance, the very limited knowledge about other cultures, religions, foreign politics, while having the urge to transpose their often very ill founded believes as facts. When I see that happening here, you can bet I place a message or two. And if I bite, I rarely let it go. Sorry for that, everyone has its shortcomings.

>Most western nations have made terrible mistakes in military actions. No country is immune even with the best of intentions. The hope is that history will not repeat itself any longer....

In that we agree, as long as we do recognize it and learn in stead of denying it.
