Shartdevelop may stink but Sharpdevelop does not. ;-)

If Etecnologia delivers as promised, the VFP IDE's limitations will no longer matter because we won't be using it. VFP can drift off into the sunset as its owners intended. Meanwhile ETC and its customers will define the forward path for developers, including extensions or new methodologies that were declared impossible with VFP. Prsumably this is a result with which everybody can be satisfied.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
