For the bad news, and this I'll quote DataDirect:
"As a point of reference, our standard license fee for 64bit is $5,000 per CPU, or $3,750 per core for multi-core CPU’s, per DBMS type"
and support:
"Support = 21% of License fee based on a 3 year commitment paid yearly"
the DataDirect solution to accessing VFP data in a 64-bit environment works and is reasonably fast. It is ODBC.
They will offer some discount. But, because of the price for us (2 Dual Core processors on my 64-bit server) even with a discount is just not justified I'm currently working on using my 64-bit application on my sharepoint server to access a Link server on a 32-bit platform to access the VFP data. So far it's klunky.
