>Like Name of some item, you don't know what the user can be used as name of it so you can't control it. but for vital info my opinion is NO! Grid is one of the worst controls (I don't know which I hate more Grid,Combo or Combo in Grid) :-))

Depends on how you validate. I had about zero problems with a textbox where the validation was redirected to a bizobject at the textbox's class level, and which was then operating on the value of the controlsource (not the textbox1.value). At times it would pop up a grid with choices (i.e. no combos - there were no combos in that app!) and it worked quite nicely.

In another app (my own stuff, no framework) I had a grid which was writing into five tables (!) and it also worked fine in the end - but then this was for one single user who wanted it that way.

IOW, it can be done, under some constraints.
