What I don't get is how does someone get the credit (and hence a 'refund') for purchasing a home or buying a hybrid car when they report no income? If there is no income, how are they purchasing anything????

I've got to get myself on that list. How are they doing it? I've paid on average 24-30% taxes over the years. The only loophole I've ever fallen into is the head of household loophole and that knocked my taxes down to about 24%.
