I believe in the representative republic as the best model for governance with free market capitalism as its economic backbone. I also believe in the power and liberty of the individual and I believe the rights of the individual are more important than the privileges of the masses.

I believe in lots of things. If we're talking about real life, I believe in the scientific notion that "the animal is always right" meaning that theories about real life behavior need to match what actually happens in real life. Otherwise they aren't theories, they're wishes. So: can you point to a nation that manages to achieve what you describe or are we talking about a general wish that human beings should be nicer?
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
