I've seen D or B (can't really be sure, it's been a long time ago), as I've seen implemented in some RM Cobol tables (tables? OK, let's call them tables), and also in VAX Cobol. I've just checked my conversion routine generator for RM Cobol, and it's BCD2Num function treats only C and F as plus sign, and anything else as minus.
