The problem is - we have two updatable views: parent and child. We want to insert a new record into the Parent and corresponding records into the child tables in one transaction.

How would we get ParentID without tableupdate on the parent using AutoInc column?

I was having similar problems with AutoInc field and CA some time ago. I believe AutoInc fields have more troubles than it worth than we come to parent/child relations.
