I don't know if Charlotte is the same but even the most rinky dink office buildings in downtown Chicago now have security checkpoints, and lots of them have concrete barricades surrounding them. The financial impact on us is probably incalculable, in the billions for sure. More fundamentally, look what they have done to our way of life by hitting us once. Not even close. No stores have concrete barricades or security checkpoints. Not even the banks or large corporations except those that did before 9/11. Some large businesses always had pass cards and secure buildings long before 9/11. The only places that changed since 9/11 here are the courthouses and all federal buildings.

Our way of life has barely changed at all since 9/11. A few inconveniences when traveling now or going to court or a federal building. Those security systems should have been in place prior to 9/11.
