That does not have anything have to do with liberalism. Up here Liberalism is far away from that. Its those leftish green parties, not the liberal parties. BTW, liberals up here are centered right, at the least, anything except leftish.

It shows once more that the republican party has succeeded to redefine the term liberalism.

On one level I agree... those green parties have a talent for oposing lots of environmental issues with misleading arguments while not offering a viable alternative.


OTOH, some enviromental issues, like air polution is an issue to all political parties up here. This is because air polution has proven to cause health issues. In dense populated western europe this indeed is a concern, while in the US it is a lot less of a problem. However, I agree with obama's move to make cars cleaner and demanding cars that are less oil hungry. No country should ignore the EASY GETS, of making the environment cleaner.
