I see nothing wrong if someone chooses to disagree as I would disagree about DS. I didn't understand at all what does "breaks down too often" mean. FYI Linq is not confined to VS and is not for Access - and I didn't know it would work against access anyway. The "LINQ to SQL is more for the Access crowd" is a perjorative (but not inaccurate) comment that Access-type people who are accustomed to writing queries by dragging and dropping, seem to get more excited about linq to sql than anyone else.
Linq to SQL is OK for certain things but has many issues that have discouraged many developers. When I get a chance I'll post them.
