>>FWIW, Newegg currently has the Samsung TOC 24" 1080p HDTV for $299 with free shipping. 2 HDMI inputs, I DVI. Makes a superb 24" monitor as well as HDTV. ( 720p HDTVs do not make good monitors) .

>Wow good price and you'll love it. I bought a 32 inch viewsonic a while back. Of course now I want a 42 inch one. :)) They are great for my old eyes. If you run it as HDMI you will not be able to adjust fonts. Stick with VGA.
It has a native 1900x1080 resolution, so I don't think there will be a problem. I saw one running Visual Studio and I was stunned by how much screen real-estate there was for the IDE. I have a samsung 23" now on my desk but it is the 720p and while the TV looks great (unless you put it next to a 1080p) the 1360x900 or whatever resolution just doesn't work right for text on the monitor. Interesting that when I bought it I paid more than twice as much as for this new one <g> The economics of electronics. I'll probably be running this new one in a dual monitor setup with the Dell 19" Ultrasharp (which I think is a rebranded samsung or viewsonic) and keep the "old" samsung just as a TV. ( now I just need a much bigger desk <s> )

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy
Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.
-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin
