>>>>Well I don't think he need worry about poll ratings for a couple of years yet. You elected him to lead not chase popularity.

>>>>Are you living under a rock? Your ignorance of current events in the US is appalling. If you are going to speak on a topic, you really need to know something about it. Obama is not a leader - he is a rock star. He is on television more than Hugo Chavez is in Venezuela. He hasn't a clue about how to be a leader - the only thing he has ever done is to campaign and he is still doing it.

>>>>Oh yes, and let's not forget how he is telling US citizens that we need to tighten our belts while he uses tens of thousands of our hard-earned tax payer dollars to take Michelle to New York for a Broadway play and dinner. A real leader would lead by example instead of being such a hypocrite.

>>>You're very angry. Maybe you should find a different country to live as the one you are in at the moment seems such a bad fit. remember most of your fellow countrymen disagree with you. Thats what living in a democracy is about. You had your way under Bush for years and now its over.

>>No they don't. Did you look at the polls I posted in another message?

>Polls are meaningless Tracy. They exist only to give solace to the political fringe. Enough people voted to get Obama in at the election hence they are the majority.

Your statement makes no sense.

That is nonsense and you know it :o) By that reasoning, this country agreed with the previous president and his policies by a majority as well. That clearly was not true during his 2nd term. As you well know, people vote for a candidate for a lot of reasons and with Obama, his promises changed during the campaign and toward the end his speeches were full of generalizations and not very specific (just like his speech in Cairo). Throughout history, the policies and decisions made by the presidents surprised everyone, including those who voted for him. They do not always gain approval during their term or even hold the amount of support invested in them when they are elected. Approval goes up and down during their term as folks approve or disagree with their policies and actions.

He is a terrific orator - that has never been disputed. Based on his wonderful speeches, many had and still have tremendous faith and hope in him. However, people are beginning to look for (and expect) specifics and not just flowery emotional phrases:

and the polls do reflect as well as can be expected how people feel about the policies. The policies are not supported by many at all. Folks are still separating the man from the policies though which makes no sense. Eventually Obama's policies will represent Obama and approval will rise and fall for both simultaneously.
