>>>>>Polls are meaningless Tracy. They exist only to give solace to the political fringe. Enough people voted to get Obama in at the election hence they are the majority.
>>>>>
>>>>>And I know several people who voted for Obama who are sorry that they did. They tell me that they had no idea that he was going to push the policies that he has and they are sorry that they voted for them. Have you ever heard of buyers' remorse?
>>>>>

>>>>Marcia if you have no idea what I'm talking about thats fine by me because politically you and I are on different planets. And by the way I live on the nice planet. Anyone who votes in an election and is sorry this close to the election date with what they got is an ass.
>>>
>>>You've certainly demonstrated how much more polite, respectful of differing opinions, and open to discussion and criticism the left over there is. Why was it necessary to take such a vengeful and negative (not to mention name calling) direction?
>>>
>>>Many folks over here pay close attention to the policies and actions of their leaders. We tend to think of it as good citizenship. Some don't pay any attention until it affects them personally in their daily life. Disagreeing with a policy(s) does not always or even usually mean we don't support our leader(s). We all want what is best for this country and by extension, the world as a whole. Many folks just disagree on what is best. If a new leader immediately implements policies which directly affect some people in a negative way, then it is to be expected that they would regret his election. I don't think that may folks truly regret his election (yet) though. It may happen, it may not. I do know folks who have lost their job and not gained a new one due to the stimulus package though. Everything sounds great in speeches on tv and in the media but reality is not always the same. Do I have to remind you of the general view of Thatcher here compared to your view of her when she was a leader? The two certainly didn't jive.
>>>
>>>I sometimes wonder how many folks from other countries really want what is best for this country or if they are hoping it will fail. Would that be from just being hateful at heart or out of envy? I really don't know, but I know I've met both types in the world and I've also met folks who truly are kind hearted toward their fellow man and other cultures and governments.
>>>
>>>The world isn't going to end because the two of you disagree. Obama's policies are not going to change because Marsha disagrees with them just as I'm sure you probably don't have Gordon Brown's ear or the ear of all those cabinet members who recently resigned... :o)
>>>
>>>Sheesh, it's ok to disagree. :o)
>>
>>Oh dear. You ask why so many people dislike the U.S and then you answer your own question:
>>"We all want what is best for this country and by extension, the world as a whole."

That's not what you wrote - but, of course, no. But for me to assert that what is best for me or this countrty is also best for the world would be either naive, hypocritical or arrogant.
