So in short, since I took office, the U.S. economy has been screwed, blued, and tattooed. But I have a solution.....think of inflation, as our friend! At the rate we're going, before you know it, we'll all be millionaries. Don't you wish you could drive hundred thousand dollar cars, smoke hundred dollar cigars, and live in million-dollar homes? I sure wish I could".

>>>I'm still coming to terms with his latest statement that the U.S. could be considered one of the largest Muslim countries in the world. All after denying the U.S. was a Christian nation... Not to mention that if you look at the numbers, we are around the 23rd or lower. We are the 2nd largest Jewish nation though I believe. We are a secular, democratic country that encompasses all religions. It sounded too much like establishing himself as an ally with a world that won't believe him anyway.

>>I don't think he was trying to ally us with Muslims at the expense of any other group as to say we do not consider Muslims per se our enemies. Because the longer you allow that perception to stand, the more it takes hold. I also think he is genuinely a conciliator by nature.
>>
>>It's apples and oranges to compare the U.S. by rank when it comes to various population subsets. There are a few million Jewish people in the U.S. and a few million in Israel. There are probably, what, close to a billion Muslims in the world?
>
>And how many in the U.S.? 8 million? Definitely doesn't qualify as "one of the largest Muslim countries in the world."

I agree that phrase was not a very accurate thing for him to say. Still, demographic statistics was not the point of his speech.
