Thanks. Good advice. Your doc is right, I would never be the first in line for a new shot (only exception might be if some horrible catastrophe hit, serious illness/death was almost certain, and the only choice was a vaccine or a coffin).

I actually had an IM conversation with one of my friends whose child is in a private school, and I raised the issue of him having the "luxury" of choosing not to get a vaccine....his answer was a rather unimpressive, "well, that's what people would like you to think....that's what they're saying now...what about 6 months from now".

I did a little more reading (was actually reading about this almost all night, in between feedings, haha ), and learned that many studies over the last 10 years that tried to prove a link between autism and vaccines was usually dismissed by other independent studies - often concluding that the initial studies were conducted poorly, too few observations, etc. It does seem that some of the vocal opposition to vaccines seems to have an element of self-disassociation (is that a word?).
