Oh you cut me to the quick.:-) LOOP/EXIT...ugh. Never use them. I know with your work, however, you probably have to. Typically, I emulate it by forcing at least one iteration. For example:

* Assure the loop iterates once
lldone = .F.
DO WHILE NOT lldone
  * Code stuff here
  * then, right before the ENDDO
  lldone = < logical expression >
ENDDO

It works for me, but still...
