I once played with MySql and UTF-8, and I remember I had to do a few StrTran() conversions for the ten special characters.
Over the years, I concluded that there are only two big problems with VFP: 1) it's Microsoft, 2) it isn't UTF-8 or Unicode capable. No real solutions for either, only workarounds.
