>Tracy, you're not wrong, you're absolutely right.

>Stated bluntly, he looks at the rich/wealthy as a way to take their earnings by force, in order to meet his objective of, as you described, maximum coverage. And judging from his published tax scale during the election, he has an interesting view of whom he considers "wealthy".

>Look at what Obama wanted to do with capital gains tax.

>A question: you've mentioned several times you hope he'll accomplish great things in foreign affairs. Usually there's some previously-demonstrated capability that leads to hope. What has Obama actually done that raises your hopes? I'm certainly not like Rush Limbaugh who "hopes he fails"...if he fails, we all fail.

>By the way, are you aware that Obama recently said that Iraq is much better off without Hussien? And yet didn't he refer to the attack on Iraq as a "war of choice"? AFAIC, this shows little more than some armchair politician who doesn't want to get his hands dirty. (Yet his history in Illinois shows just how dirty he's willing to get his hands dirty for certain causes).

>And recent events show that his 2007 statement about wanted to be "above" politics was just that...a statement.

>I voted for McCain....he was far from perfect, his running mate was a terrible choice - but at least I had confidence that McCain would stand up to our enemies.

>Your line about "There seems to be a view that mediocrity is okay as long as it pertains to everyone." is spot-on. In the early 1930's, an assistant of Jane Addams (the famous social worker), went to Russia and wrote a book about her experiences....direct quote, "'How wonderful it was to see everybody equally shabby!' Obama supports many of the core values of communism - if we are in horrible shape in 4 years, I don't know who I'll be angrier with...Obama, or the american people who voted for him, or quite likely the Republican party that failed to the point where someone like Obama was elected as a protest vote.

The American people who voted for him are directly responsible for what happens as a result.
