And if you think that the free market is able to restore itself faster with the regulations and bailouts, I think you have to take a look again at the depression in the 1930-ties.

Walter, the great depression was caused by government manipulation of the money supply. The federal govt inflated the monetary supply beyond gold reserves throughout the late 1920's, and then raised interest rates in 1929 at a point that was viewed by many as unnecesary.

The Free market was NOT responsible for the great depression - to state so is bad information and bad history.

Because it started until a Republican president, many people mistakenly believe that the free market caused the great depresson - it didn't. FDR's economic plan pushed the US more DEEPLY into a depression. The US did not get out of the depression until after World War II.

Look at the big three car manufaturers in the US. They underdelivered.

I acknowledge that our three major car manufacturers performed poorly. However, they are not the only ones to blame.
