>>>Business, capitalism, and wealth are the engines of growth and recovery and all three have been declared war on by the current gaggle of pinheads. So be prepared for a long period of stagnation and pain. I think history will see Obama as Carter on steroids.

>Capitalisam in socio-economic terms is like what water is in terms of nature elements. It is an element;
>You can have river watering your crops and providing drinking and bathtube water, but you can also have it as flood that could kill the whole willage.
>
>Private initiative is essential, but like with all other elements you don't want it to be out of control and get drawned, burned or whatever.
>Control over the 'elements' is ultimate must (as in well balanced government regulation) especially nowdays (ecology,social aspects etc) . Unless we can all secure the seat in some Noah Spaceship one day...

>As for stagnation, It is I believe imminent. Japan with their top notch economy (remember 80ies ? ) had it going for years now. Why do you think US conomy will escape that drought ? And when it happen do you think that you (as in average citizen) will be better of with powerless govenrment ? I don't think so.

>And back to yearly politics;
>What is it that Obama team did which was not already done by previous administration. It was not Obama (nor even Bush) who came up with TARP etc, so why do you concentrate your anger solely on Obama ?

It is not true, i.e. your point is misguided. I can refer you to UT discussions at the time when Bush/Paulson promoted first bailout. All your opponents (on this forum) were very negative about that program, while many of your allies supported it.
