There would be many ways to do this.

If the problem currently is to get the alias for insert, you could do something like this...
IF _screen.ActiveForm.ActiveControl.BaseClass = 'Grid'
    lcAliasToInsert = _screen.ActiveForm.ActiveControl.RecordSource
ENDIF
