Does anyone have a fix or work-around for the apparent bug in the VFP 6.0 MKDIR command?

Execute this command in the Command Window: mkdir "C:\123456789"

Then execute this command: mkdir "C:\12345678"

I get an error message saying that: "A subdir or file C:\12345678 already exists."
