>Are you simply saying that those prisoners are lawless and the US can do with them whatever they want?
>
>I'll repeat what I said before - the context cannot be ignored that any suspect captured/caught on the battlefield who is not wearing a uniform, is not part of a nation-state, can be shot or hanged, right then and there...or brought back if we think we can get more information.

Ehhh.. say agian. Some suspect were just normal citizen or could be, which were made suspects by 3rd parties without any checking.

>If you have a problem with anything I've said, take it up with the people who held Americans hostage for over a year, killed 240+ Marines on what was (at the time) the biggest non-nuclear explosion in world history, bombed the World Trade Center, and perpetrated the 9/11 attacks.

That statement disgusts me. If you're out for revenge, why not nuke the place?. then at least the whole world knows the american motives, not the missleading lying argument that you're there for justice.

>You claim that's "anger"...you're absolutely right. We as a country have not reacted angrily ENOUGH.

Well that sums it up, why not nuke the place and let the whole world see your face?

>What *if* you were arrested by the mossad in your home city, being accused for undermining jewish interests in the US. You are kidnapped out of the US to Israel, tortured without any trail or even any charge for several years?
>
>Now this is exactly what is happening to the prisoners in Guantanamo and CIA prisoners exported to CIA prisons anywhere in the world

>
>This must be "crazy hypothetical week"....last time I checked, no one flew planes into Israeli buildings leading to 3,000 deaths - certainly no one that would cause Israel to start investigating on U.S. soil.

Replace Israeli with any other nation that has an axe to grind for injustice the US has done. It could be a fairly long list. You're using 9/11 as a poor and unforgivable excuse for justifying the violation of human rights and the geneva convention.

>But to answer this utterly absurd analogy, I would expect my own government to defend me, to demand my release...if the mossad used force to enter this country, I'd expect my own country to use force in response to rescue me.

You're government has nothing to say in this matter, just as much as the Canadian government had. They did not even know where he was.

>Whether they in fact are guilty or not is besides the point. In every civilized country you are innocent until proven otherwise

>"Innocent until proven guilty" is a vital hallmark of our justice system - and also irrelevant for this topic.

Absolutely not. You're saying that those people in gitmo are outside of your justice system. I'd say your justice system DOES apply to those prisoners.
