>>Don't you guys over in the USA fear for your very lives every time you drive? On all the US movies it seems that as soon as a US car hits anything else it immediately bursts into flames.

>>This even extends to non motor vehicles. In an episode of the Simpsons once, during a street go-cart race with Bart, one of the carts crashed and burst into flames, even though there were no combustibles on board.

>No worries for me. I drive a VW diesel Jetta (40 mpg city, 50 mpg hwy). My wife drives a Volvo XC70 and I also have an Isuzu Trooper for fun.

We have a car in common at least. My Jetta is not a diesel, just the plain model. Black. It gets right around 30 mpg. Have not had a minute of trouble with it other than a window that fell off its hinges and was fixed under warranty. I used to be Mr. Sports Car -- Trans Am, RX7, Corvette, Corvette. I am cool now with a Jetta.
